Polytunnel Blossom in the Highlands!

Polytunnel Blossom

Polytunnel Blossom

Colin Mc andrew from the Scottish Highlands sent this great picture through of his peach tree in blossom last month.  Now apparently, the tree is in full leaf with at least 2 dozen flowers set to fruit with a little help from a small paint brush for pollination!

First Haygrove in the Orkneys!

Many thanks to Malcolm and Debbie Smith who sent us these pictures from their new Haygrove Garden Tunnel now at home in The Orkneys.
As you can see below, they are really well organised and have made a great job of organising the interior already!

Growing Undercover in Dry Sussex

Polytunnel Asparagus Irrigation

Watering the Asparagus

Well 2 more days & then we get a housepipe ban! The last time we had rain here in Sussex was March 3rd!  Last year I set up a 1000 Ltr IBC water storage system which I half filled last Autumn. This has definitely helped with the water situation but even that’s going down fast with no new rain to top it up.

It’s very easy to collect water off the rolled up ventilation sides of a Haygrove Garden Tunnel into water butts. It’s then a matter of pumping from the water butts into the big container using a sump pump. I’m watering asparagus using a trickle feed system which I’m going to extend to water my Toms, melons, peppers etc. That’s the plan anyway…

Our Most Frequently Asked Question!

Polytunnel strength
How Strong?!

- it was great to meet so many current customers thrilled with their Haygrove Garden Tunnels, along with a lot of growers wanting to try us out.  Our most popular question by far is did you really sit on top of the tunnel!

Well yes of course we did!  The 4 of us are sitting on a 4m x 8m tunnel we have at our Ledbury Show Site all witnessed by a friend from Garden News – you may just spot John & Mark reading a copy.  For those who want to try it for themselves we have a trampoline style demonstartion you can bounce on at shows so come and have a go!
